What is a soul tie?
A soul tie is a spiritual connection or bond between two people.
Most soul ties are formed after very intense spiritual and emotional connections but the most intense ties are formed when there has been intercourse between two people. These ties can be very impactful because some people can have such a strong role and influence on your life for such a long time that a deep bond or tie is formed. These bonds can transcend time even after a breakup or death. Some people have a strong sense of "home" or soul recognition. This familiarity often gives the feeling of "I've known you my whole life" even upon meeting someone for the first time. The feeling of being inexplicably connected to someone can also give you a sense that the other person completes you in some way. However, that can imply that you already felt incomplete and can be a sign of codependency or infatuation that can lead to an unhealthy attachment. Spirit Vine Ayahuasca Retreat Center states that there are symptoms that can reveal whether you have a soul tie connection with someone. "Soul tie symptoms are usually the same as those which are often experienced by people after the end of a particularly intense relationship. Although these effects can stay much after the relationship has ended, even years at times."
They might include:
Obsessing about a person in your thoughts – particularly during the daytime
Dreaming about a person or waking up thinking about them regularly
Imagining or hearing a person’s voice in your head
Soul tie relationships can become toxic and codependent. As stated earlier, the feeling that you cannot get some one out of your system can also be an indicator that there's is a strong attachment to someone that could be a hindrance to you in some way. These attachments are sometimes created for a higher purpose which is to cultivate self love for oneself vs needing love externally. Therefore, some soul ties could be linked to soul agreements or contracts that were made before incarnating into a physical body.
